John Nshimba Jeckoniah is an Associate Professor of Rural development at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). He is a rural development expert with special focus and interest on gender and value chain development. He has over 17 years of progressive experience in training, consultancy services and implementation of research and development projects.  He holds a Bachelor degree in Home Economics and Human Nutrition (BSc. HE&HN), Master of Arts in Rural (MA-RD), and PhD in Rural Development). His research interests include: gender and livelihood analysis, value chain analysis, food security, project design, analysis & implementation, and contemporary rural development issues.
